Department: Optics and Optometry and Vision Sciences
Full Professor. He trained at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Aston University and Louisiana State University, and has developed his academic and research career in Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. He is Director of the ORBITA research group and Co-coordinator of OASIS (Ocular Anterior Segment and Surface Innovation Science), a Joint Research Unit of IIS La Fe between the Universitat de València and Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe. His work combines optical modelling, in vivo clinical measurements and translational ophthalmic research, supported by an extensive network of national and international collaborations. He has led competitive research projects funded at European, national and regional levels, as well as industry-supported projects, and has extensive experience in researcher training and supervision. He serves on several editorial boards and is the author of more than 125 scientific articles published in indexed journals.
