Ana María Dejoz García was born in Valencia in 1968. She studied Chemical Sciences, Industrial Chemistry specialty, at the University of Valencia (UV) (1986-1991). In September 1991 she was admitted to the UV Chemical Engineering doctoral program, beginning her professional relationship with the UV Chemical Engineering Department and with the Chemical Technology Institute (UPV-CSIC), which she currently holds. She received her doctorate in Chemistry from the UV in 1995.
In October 1991 she joined to the staff of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the UV, where she has been Associate Professor (PTE, 6 h), FPU Predoctoral Granted (MEC), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor (FTE), and since August 20, 1999, Senior Lecturer of the area of Chemical Engineering at the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV), having given theoretical and practical classes of almost all the subjects of the area. She has participated in the direction of 48 final degree projects related to the design of process equipment. She has consolidated six components for teaching merits (five-year periods).
The applicant is currently member of the research group IQCATAL of the UV. The work of this group has been focused on the study of several catalytic processes considering the synthesis and characterization of catalytic materials and the study of their catalytic behaviour under reaction conditions. Since her incorporation to the Department of Chemical Engineering, she has worked primarily in the field of activation of alkanes through selective oxidation processes in close collaboration with the Chemical Technology Institute, the valorization of biomass-derived compounds in collaboration with the research group ERSI of the Complutense University of Madrid, the elimination of volatile organic compounds and the decomposition of nitrous oxide. She has also collaborated with the catalysis group of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Malaga, and researchers from the School of Chemistry of the University of Cardiff, the Institute of Carbochemistry (CSIC), the Institute of Science of Materials (UV) and the Department of Applied Physics and Electromagnetism (UV).
She has published 68 research papers in different fields of Chemical Engineering, 54 of them belonging to the first quarter of the JCR (Q1), mainly in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and equilibrium between phases, and 4 book chapters, and she has presented 51 communications at scientific conferences. Likewise, she is the co-author of a national patent and an international patent related to the design of a highly selective catalyst for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene. Globally, her publications have received 3415 citations with an average of citations per year of 205 in the last five years and she has an index h = 35. She has participated in 17 research projects funded in public calls. As a result of her researcher profile, she has been granted with five periods of research activity (six-year terms).
She has been involved in university tasks of administrative and academic management, first as a Secretary of the Department of Chemical Engineering (November 2008-March 2015) and later as Vicedirector of the ETSE‑UV and Quality Manager of the ETSE-UV (March 2015-March 2021) and PI of the currently active Project PID2021-126235OB-C33 of the Spanish State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research, which has meant an intense dedication to university management tasks.
In the field of the gender gap, she collaborated from April 2019 to December 2020 in the Girl4STEM project funded by Spanish Science, Innovation and Universities Ministry (FCT-18-13147) to make the presence of women visible in the STEM area and promote the technological vocation.
