Santiago García Lázaro currently works as a university professor in the Department of Optics, Optometry, and Vision Sciences at the University of Valencia, where he teaches, conducts research, and performs administrative duties in the field of optometry and vision sciences. He teaches in the Bachelor's Degree Program in Optics and Optometry in the Faculty of Physics. He trained at the University of Valencia. He is the author of more than 100 articles in indexed journals. He has held various university management positions as course and degree coordinator, as well as being the Rector's Delegate for Special Projects in Construction and Infrastructure. His research interests focus mainly on the evaluation of systems for measuring different ocular parameters, as well as the evaluation of the clinical results of different procedures related to contact lenses and the ocular surface.
