Biography

I am an Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the Universitat de València since 2019. Previously, I was a Research Assistant (2010-2014) and then Head of Project (2014-2015) at the Cluster of Excellence Religion and Politics at the University of Münster (Germany), before changing to the UV in 2015 with a tenure-track position. I have also been Visiting fellow at the Free University of Berlin (Friedrich-Meinecke Institut), University of Vienna (Institut für Zeitgeschichte) and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Facultad de Ciencias Políticas), as well as Guest Lecturer at the universities of Potsdam, Humboldt of Berlin and Vienna.
My International PhD (2014) focused on the relations between the Women's Section of the Spanish Falange and the Nazi Party's youth and women organizations in Germany. My main research interest is the relation of gender and fascism as well as the cross-border cooperation of European fascists in the 1930s and 1940's. Besides, I publish on the history of València as Capital of the Spanish Republic 1936-1937, and on Spain's struggle with Francoism's symbolic remains in the public space after 1979.
I have co-edited the volumes Reactionary nationalists, fascists and dictatorships. Against democracy (Palgrave 2019) and Tot està per fer.València, Capital de la República 1936-1937 (UV 2016). Furthermore, I authored numerous articles in European journals, including, among others, the Journal of Contemporary History, Zeitgeschichte, and Historia y Política. Besides I translated various articles and three scientific books into Spanish: Haupt/Langewiesche (eds.), Nation und Religion in Europa (Campus 2004); Raphael, Geschichtswissenschaft im Zeitalter der Extreme (C.H. Beck 2003), and Caruso, Geist oder Mechanik (Peter Lang 2010).
