Biography

Fidel León Darder is associate professor of international business at the Business Strategy Department of the Universitat de València. His teaching experience includes undergraduate, master and PhD courses in different universities in Europe and Latin America, among them Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina), Universidad ORT (Uruguay), Universidad de Santiago (Chile), ITCR (Costa Rica), UCLA (Venezuela), ICESI (Colombia), Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia), Hochschule Heilbronn (Germany), Université Paris XII (France), KEDGE Business School (France), RISEBA (Latvia), RPANEPA (Russia), Iowa State University (USA). His teaching experience focuses on the areas of Business Strategy, International Management and Cross Cultural Management. Professor León has authored diverse textbooks on International Business published by Pearson- Prentice Hall and McGraw Hill among others.

Professor León is member of the INGLOBEST research team; his research focuses on the foreign subsidiary strategy, internationalization process and mode combinations and the influence of culture on international business. His contributions to research have been published in various journals including International Business Review, International Marketing Review, Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Service Business, Service Industries Journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of International Management, etc. Dr. León has been visiting scholar at Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), École de Management de Lyon (France), ESCE Paris (France), UCLA (Venezuela), RPANEPA (Russia) and ITCR (Costa Rica).

As Associate Dean for International Relations, Dr. León encouraged the signature of students’ exchange and dual degree agreements in Asia, America, Australia and Europe. The Faculty of Economics became a leading center in students’ mobility in Europe. Professor León also participated as a member of the organizing committee of the 2009 Congress of EIBA (European International Business Academy) and was the Academic Director of the 2015 International Congress of SIETAR (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research). Both conferences were held in Valencia.
