Biography

Graduated in International Business at UV and Hochschule Bremen (Germany) and Master in Business Strategy at UV. After these degrees, the interest and curiosity for teaching and research led me to join the Department of Business Management for 2 years as Research Assistant. After this experience, I started my PhD in the same department, where I currently enjoy a predoctoral contract (FPU) to carry out my thesis in the area of family business, supervised by Prof. Tomás González-Cruz.

Basically in this project we want to broaden the knowledge about the understanding of family business, but this time from a family perspective. Specifically we analyze the profiles of business families and their level of fit with the family council. Such was my interest in family dynamics and social behavior that I decided to start studying a degree in Psychology at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) to complement my educational background in business.

Since then we believe on a multidisciplinary approach, the thesis incorporates theories from the philosophy of science, family therapy, and sociology. We believe that multidisciplinarity enriches the observation of the phenomenon and complements, with new perspectives, the existing contributions so far.

During this doctoral period, in addition to the multiple perspectives, I have had the opportunity to visit several universities. Visiting periods at the Universita degli Studi di Palermo (Italy), with Professor Salvatore Tomaselli, and at the IESE Business School-University of Navarra, Madrid, with the director of the Family Business Chair, Marta Elvira, have been of great help in framing and advancing the thesis project.

Finally, and complementary to the pre-doctoral training, I am part of the Commission for Equality of the Faculty of Economics, and I am a volunteer in the Gender Equality Unit of the UV to support research on gender and initiatives that promote equality in the university environment.
