María Elvira Mocholí Martínez earned her Ph.D. from Universitat de València in Art History. She received a fellowship at the Department of Art History of this university and conducted research stays at the Warburg Institute in London. After more than a decade of professional activity in the field of cultural tourism, in 2016 he resumed his teaching and research function in the Department of Art History of the University of València, where she currently is as an assistant professor. She is secretary of the Imago journal, edited by the Sociedad Española de Emblemática.
Her research concentrates on the study of the medieval image in all its aspects (relics and reliquaries, miniatures, etc.) to carry out an analysis and interpretation of it in its cultural context, with special attention to the sculptural imagery of Mary in the ancient kingdom of Valencia. Currently, he participates in the project "The iconographic subjects: Old Testament I".
