Currricul@'s texts
. I carry out my research activity at the University of Valencia, in the research group Formulation and Technological and Pharmacokinetics Evaluation of Medicines (EVALUAMECO). This group is part of the 'Institute Molecular Recognition and Technological Development' (IDM), that belongs to the University of Valencia-Polytechnic University of Valencia. My objectives of interest within the research group have been mainly: (1) the kinetic modelling of the LADME processes of drug candidates, especially the oral and/or transdermal absorption processes, (2) the detection of deficient absorption properties and the investigation of alternatives to overcome them. Both are aspects that contribute to increase the quality of pharmacotherapy and allow to increase the alternatives for drug administration, seeking for solutions adapted to specific population groups. This research, integrated into the fields of biopharmacy and pharmacokinetics, although in its origin was basics research has evolved towards applied research, based on two fundamental pillars, on the one hand by contributing to the optimization of dosage regimens and on the other, for the contribution to decision-making in the context of bioequivalence. I have participated in many research projects. I would like to highlight the participation in cooperation projects, that made it possible to share the knowledge acquired over time by our group with various universities and research centers in South America, allowing to strengthen the academic and research capacity in biopharmaceutical sciences of professionals linked to drug development. The knowledge achieved through the research projects has had projection in both the academic and business sectors. The methods for the evaluation of the permeability of molecules has aroused the interest of pharmaceutical companies, health administrations and academia, which have accepted them to evaluate the absorption in early phases of drug development. The knowledge on transdermal absorption and the mechanisms involved in the use of iontophoresis have served to offer our know how to pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries..
