Increases the presence of the University of Valencia in the social networks

Presence of the University of Valencia in the social networks is growing. Aside from the own institution, many are the services, units and programmes that have joined the social network space. Spaces that in the network, serve only to bring near the University of Valencia close to society through the new habits of relationships and social cohesion.

Why are necessary the social networks into the University?

Ten good reasons to accelerate the introduction of the social networks into the University:
 
  1. 2.0 tools and their implications. Efficiency, prospective. Technology as a university strategy. Leadership?
  2. Open university model in contrast of the closed model-strict compartments. Closed virtual compartments and Open Access Policy.
  3. The need to "universalise" the knowledge. Competitive universities versus non-competitive universities.
  4. The needs of companies, where works our students, assimilate these tools.
  5. Make effective the internaciolisation of the university students not only of the universities but also of the university students. (Agreements, networks, declarations).
  6. Create an open innovation, networks of researchers and networks of enrtepeneurs and companies demanding ideas. Social compromise of research.
  7. Promote collaborative work and groupwork (not strictly face-to-face).
  8. The protagonism of students (web 2.0).
  9. Make the utopies of modern pedagogy come true.
  10. Universities do not have the monopoly on knowledge.
