On the next Wednesday, 15 February 2017, the Master’s Degree in Law, Business and Justice of the UV has been visited by Dr. Théophile M. Margellos, President of the Appeals Chamber of the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union (EUIPO), based in Alicante, accompanied by D. Sven Stürmann, Team Leader of the Knowledge & Legal Support Team of the Boards of Appeal Knowledge, Information & Support Service of that Office.

Both have had the opportunity to develop a practical seminar in the framework of our Master’s Degree. During his intervention, Mr. Margellos and Mr. Stürmann have informed to the Master’s Degree students of the existing complaint system and the use of the mediation and conciliation as a new way of facing them in a more satisfactory way for the parties and with a lower cost and duration for them. The visit of Théophile Margellos and Sven Stürmann (EUIPO) is added to those developed in our Faculty in other occasions and allows the students of the master to have a direct knowledge of the reality of the ADRs. Both were presented by Dr. Carlos Esplugues, Director of the Master in Law, Business and Justice of the UV and member of the Research Group of Excellence MedArbValencia.
