In order to subscript to a University of Valencia list it is enough to senda n email whose body is the following:
List subscription Name Last Name
To the address:
listserv@listserv.uv.es
where the ‘list’ is the list’s name to which we want to subscribe, and Name and Last Name are the subscriber’s name and surnames, not their email address (this latter one is directly obtained by the server from the message’s title). The subject of the message is totally ignored by the server.
Note that depending on how the sent message is generated (depending on the email’s client and on how we configure it) the server can be able to obtain the Name and Last Name from the message’s title too; in this case, it would not be necessary to write it in the subscription.
Important: if the email programme used automatically includes a signing file, it will be necessary to add the “end” command (without the inverted commas) in the following line and before the signature to avoid the server to try to process this as commands, generating errors. Alternatively at the end two dashes can be used at the beginning (without anything else after it).
The address listserv@listserv.es.es is that of the Listserv server and it is to that one where joining or cancellations must be notified. Never send it to the list address to which we want to subscribe.
The sent message is processed by the server, which returns another specifying if there have been any errors or if the subscription has been successful or if there are any other operations needed to complete it.
