
Last 14 May the open research seminar with title ‘Weaving Social and Environmental Justice’ was done.
Organised by the Chair for Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the UV along with the Official College of Social Work of Valencia. It counted with a wide attendance of people, including students, teachers and professionals of the area of social intervention. After a brief introduction to the eco-social perspective in the Social Work and social politics and its vital importance, it counted with the experience of various initiatives that connect in the territory the fight for social and environmental justice, as they are:
- The participatory process “My green neighbourhood”, pushed forward by València Clima i Energia.
- The communal actions by the food right ‘Entreiguales’ of Food Justice and ACOEC.
- Work experience in aggregocological garden with young people of the Socio-laboral integration centre Agrodinamo.
- Different practices guaranteeing the right to energy of the Aeioluz cooperative.
- Different actions and inventive policies of consumption and responsible public purchasing in the university context of the UV.
The object is to know, understand, point out the value and push forward politics and concrete initiatives in the valencian environment that are connecting environmental sustainability with inclusion. The debates of the seminar will be used as a base to produce material oriented to give concrete recommendations to included a eco-social perspective in practices and inclusion politics.
