The Challenge took place on Fabruary 19 and 20 in l’Escola Tèncnica Superior d’Enginyeria de la Universitat de València.

Students from the Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering and the Master´s degree in Chemical Engineering participated in the group of four.

Adolfo Losa and Laura Rocati, of the Health, Safety and Environment department of Power-Co Spain, who set the challenge of finding innovative solutions to improve the energetic efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint in the industry, and supported students in developing their proposals. After the working sessions, the teams presented their proposed solution to the jury made up of Vicente Martínez Soria, Director of the Master´s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Ángel Robles Martínez, Deputy Director of Institutional Relations, Equality, and Culture at ETSE-UV, Paula Marzal Doménech, Co-Director of POWERCO-UV Chair and Adolfo Losa and Laura Rocati on behalf of Power-Co.

The winning team was EsmorzarETSE, made up of students from the Master´s Degree in Chemical Engineering: Miquel Peñarrocha EixarchEvian Vázquez GonzálezAdrián Diago Ros i Salvador Ballester Soriano.

In second place, team Voltaje Extremo, consisting of students of Master´s Degree in Chemical Engineering: Alejandro Martínez VicenteAbigail Yajaira AcostaAntonio García Ariza i Hugo Verduras Bolinches.

The third prize was awarded jointly to the teams Energía Química composed of Blanca Moreno SignesMar Simó BlascoJoan García Cortina i Francesc Ruíz Soler, and Química_3 made up of Joel Maestro LlácerJosé A. López AlborsAndreu Morillas Berga i Marc Villalba Calleja, all of them are students of Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering.

The award ceremony will be attended by: Rafael Magdalena Benedito, Director of the l’Escola Tèncnica Superior d’Enginyeria de la Universitat de València (ETSE-UV), Paula Marzal Doménech and José Torres País, co-Directors of POWERCO-UV Chair and Ángel Robles Martínez, Subdirector of Institutional Relations, Equality, and Culture at ETSE-UV, and on the behalf of the Power—Co: Andreas Huels, Head of Health, Safety, and Environment; Lorena Rodrigo, Head of Corporate Communications and External Relations; and Lada Giniyatova, from the Talent department.
