
On 12 April, the Faculty of Law hosted the seminar ‘Social and territorial cohesion and the institutional structure of the EU’, given by María Jesús Gercía, tenured university professor of Administrative Law at the Universitat de València.
The seminar was held as part of the dissemination activities of the Jean Monnet Chair. Economic Services of General Interest in the framework of social and territorial cohesion, aimed at students of the Faculty of Law. It analysed the institutional structure of the European Union and its role in achieving the objectives of the Treaties, in particular those related to economic and social cohesion.
The seminar was given by María Jesús García, tenured university professor of Administrative Law at the Universitat de València and holder of the Jean Monnet Chair - Economic Services of General Interest in the framework of social and territorial cohesion. She was a visiting professor at Harvard University in 2017 and a member of the ‘Real Colegio Complutense’ at Harvard. She is the author of seven books, winner of several awards for her work on legal studies and has published different articles in specialised journals on a wide range of topics related to Public Law.
