Decision-making based on empirical evidence plays a fundamental role in the design of efficient public policies and as a competitive advantage of commercial companies. Within this framework, the DevStat-UV Chair on Quantitative Decision-making has as a mission to contribute to the research and transfer of new quantitative methods, especially data science and behavioral economics, in order to support policy design and business development. The DevStat-UV Chair on Quantitative Decision-making also aims to raise awareness among citizens and social agents in the use of empirical evidence, as a counterpoint to the growing impact of the post-truth. To maximize its impact, the Chair is also setting up a national and international network of research centers and information users who share the same objectives for a joint development of actions.
