The doctoral programme in Neuroscience covers a knowledge area. The Spanish parliament, in fact, has stated 2012 as Neuroscience year in Spain. Within the biomedicine field, neuroscience occupies a relevant place, for example, the research challenge that neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's diseases suppose, a significant material and human effort is required.

In the human aspect, the training of highly skilled scientists that cover the postdoctoral places that research equipments supply over the coming years is going to be necessary. Apart from the employability in other research centres, most of the research centres of the city of Valencia maintain research groups in Neuroscience and participate in the present proposal of doctorate.
