The BPS-Health research group (Biopsychosocial Health Research Group) focuses on the study of pain and movement disorders, applying a Multimodal Physiotherapy approach within the framework of the biopsychosocial paradigm. This paradigm views both pain and movement dysfunction as complex phenomena, shaped by the interaction of biological, cognitive-evaluative, affective-motivational, and social factors, which must be addressed in an integrated and personalized manner. Through its research activity, BPS-Health aims to evaluate and understand the neurophysiological and psychosocial mechanisms involved in the development and maintenance of clinical conditions characterized by complex pain. Additionally, the group seeks to design and validate movement-based clinical interventions that contribute to the effective management of people living with pain.
