Conference by Ernest Garcia
The O-24 storm is part of a chain of extreme phenomena that are related to climate change and produce enormous social catastrophes.
Three decades ago, the sociology of risk pointed out the need to take an interest in this new reality as a central crossroads for the sociological task.
With the aim of creating a space for debate within the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology and the Faculty of Social Sciences, open to teachers as well as undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, we wanted to inaugurate the proposal with a lecture by our colleague Ernest García.
The aim of this questionioning is to explicitly and directly address the challenges for sociology as an academic discipline and critical science at the service of society.
We invite you all to participate in the event that will take place on February 12 at 12:30 in the Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
