The council is the department's governing body.

It is integrated by:

• All the doctors and doctors of the teaching and research staff assigned to the department.
• A representation of the rest of the teaching and research staff, as follows:

1. All those who have dedication to full times.
2. 50% of this staff at partial times.

• A representation of the scholarships and research scholarships assigned to the department, as follows:

1. All those who are in possession of research proficiency or the equivalent that can establish the status of the scholarship holder.
2. 50% of the remainder.

• A representation of the students who study the different cycles and centers taught by the department, equal to the total number of members of the first two departments.
• A representation of the administrative and serving staff assigned to the department equal to five of the total members of the first two departments.
• A representation, if necessary, of the professorat associat d'institucions sanitàries.

The departmental council must be renewed every three years, carried by the representatives of the students and the students, the mandate of which is any. Vacancies that occur during this period will be filled for the remaining periods.

Competencies of the departmental council:

• Prepare, approve and modify the draft internal regulations of the department.
• Elect the director and the members of the department's permanent board.
• Elect the representatives of the department on committees of the center or the University.
• Create, if necessary, the department's teaching units and elect the coordinators.
• Propose to the Governing Council the creation of departmental sections of the center and elect the directors.
• Demand responsibilities from the officials or representatives you elect and, if necessary, revoke them.
• Send a report on the study plan proposals in all that refers to the teachings assigned to the department, and also request the modification.
• Apply the guidelines of the University of Valencia on linguistic policy.
• Issue a report on the organizational proposals of the academic courses prepared by the centres.
• Assign teaching responsibilities to the professor in each academic course.
• Make a request to the University of Valencia for the personal details and materials necessary for the execution of the department's activities plan.
• Supervise, with respect to academic freedom, that the teaching programs taught by the department are in accordance with those established by the respective study plans.
• Distribute the department's budget assignment.
• Prepare the department's annual report.
• Resolve conflicts that may arise within the department, without prejudice to further resources.
• Name the departmental commissions that you consider necessary so that they assist you in the best exercise of your competencies.

The departmental council has to bring together all the vegades in the academic course.
