The Universitat de València invests in its architectural heritage

Since 1978, the Universitat de València has been involved in the rehabilitation and conservation of its historical and artistic heritage.

For more than 40 years, the Universitat de València has invested heavily in the rehabilitation of its historical and artistic heritage, which has meant, in addition to a significant economic effort, the demonstration of the sensitivity of the academic authorities of the UV to protect, maintain and use its great architectural heritage.

As a proof of all this, these actions are listed here in chronological order:

  • 1978 Aula Magna of “La Nau” Cultural Center
  • 1980 Main Hall of “La Nau” Cultural Center
  • 1997 The Chapel of the Lluís Vives Hall of Residence, converted into an Auditorium.
  • 1998 Restoration of the Principal Peset Hall of Residence
  • 1999 Restoration and extension of the current cultural centre “La Nau” for its 500th anniversary.
  • 2000 Restoration and extension of the former Faculty of Sciences and later Faculty of Pharmacy in the current Office of the Principal and general services.
  • 2001 Restoration project of the Lluís Vives Hall of Residence by the architect Juan García Carrillo.
  • Restoration of the Faculty of Geography and History.
  • 2001 Restoration of the old Trade School, current Library of Humanities.
  • 2002 Restoration and Expansion of the old Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
  • 2005 Restoration of the Palau Cerveró.
  • 2012 The restoration of the Lluís Vives Hall of Residence as a Student Residence is proposed to the Valencia City Council.
  • 2017 Restoration of the Luis Vives building in Ontinyent.
  • Finally, the project for the restoration of the Lluís Vives Hall of Residence for administrative use.
