The @FlipPhysics workshop seeks to bring together the community of physicist working in the areas of Nuclear, Particle Physics and its Applications, especially women, and also (under)-graduate, PhD students, and young researchers, who have the opportunity to be introduced to several scientific topics through (mostly) women who have been successful in the field.
The researchers will give talks on:
- Nuclear and particle physics, and some of its applications (medical physics, quantum computing)
- Machine learning applied to physics
- Dark matter
- Gravitational waves
- Astroparticles
- Cosmology
And the following activities will also take place:
- Special session for undergraduate students followed by "Picaeta Conciencia" on Wednesday March 23 from 3 pm, which has the presence of two winners of the FRACE "Young Female Scientific Talent" awards, as well as professionals from both in the field of research and private companies who will tell their experience.
- Virtual tours to particle accelerators (CMS, Jlab ...)
- Special sessions on gender equality with experts
- Didactic activities on writing research and dissemination projects (public speaking).
The talks will be given mainly by professional women in the different research areas.
