Degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, Universitat de Valencia, 2013 (first promotion) Nowadays writing the Doctoral Thesis in the ERI of Biotechnology and Biomedicine, UV. In my view, the Degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences of the UV, is one of the more complete degrees within the degrees focused on research in the areas of Molecular Biology and Biomedicine. The first academic year is on basic training, with subjects that are common to other degrees, so we have to wait until the second year to get in contact with Molecular Biology. This is totally paid-off in the following years. The second academic year is really interesting, but very demanding due to the drastic change as well as due the intensity and complexity of its subjects; the third year is very motivating, and the last year is very applicable since the Degree Final Work and the Work placements lighten class hours. It is important to be aware of what involves a degree that requires a lot of work, with really demanding subjects. However, the hard work will be rewarded at the end, for we finish very well prepared and with a high level, since teachers encourage us to be up-to-date of the last techniques and scientific discoveries in Biomedicine. The Degree focuses on training research, so it has a lot of practice hours during the four years. Moreover, there is a wide variety of labs where you can complete your work placements. This is a great opportunity to enter the world of work, for our working experience is higher than the experience that students from other degrees, or students from other countries may have. In my experience, the professional development has been very satisfactory. Once I finished my degree, I studied a Master’s in Molecular Biology in the UV, were I started my doctoral thesis few time ago in one of the labs of the university where I collaborated as a Degree student. Therefore, if you are really passionate about science and you want to receive a first-rate researching training, I recommend you to study the Degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences.
