Holder of a Degree in Biotechnology by the Universitat de València

She is currently a Master’s degree student at the Universitat de Barcelona

I still remember my first exam, how nervous I was on my first day of practices, the pipettes, the gloves, the scrubs... I gradually discovered a new passion. Thanks to all my practice hours next to my mates, I feel completely prepared to work in a lab. I have discovered that Biotechnology is not only a career but also a lifestyle. It is a way to question all the processes which happen around you; from calling jellyfishes by their name when at the beach, to how to improve wine, to what happens when I take a pill or how cancer or other anomalies come up; why it happens, when it happens, which proteins does it imply, with whom does it interact... When you finish Biotechnology, you discover that you have an endless number of possibilities at reach, which change every day, so that each one can choose whichever specialty they are more curious about. After four intense years filled with great moments, I can say I am a scientist and I enjoy what I do. And, without doubt, this would not be possible without the aid of my professors, who have taught me, mainly, how to think. I admire the way in which they transmit their love for science and their knowledge. For me, they have become role models, always accessible, following new challenges
in our training. I would most definitely choose Biotechnology at the UV.
