XX Kangaroo Contest of the SCM (2015) - Valencian Community
This is a contest convened by the Catalan Mathematics Society, and organised by the Balearic, Valencian and Catalan committees. It is an activity aimed to promote and encourage the study of mathematics by solving problems. It consists in a test comprised of 30 closed-ended math problems with increasing difficulty and five possible options to choose as the right one. This test was successfully developed on 26 March of this year.
Formulations are prepared, (in an international meeting, for this 2015 edition held in Puerto Rico) by Le Kangourou sans Frontières association, in which the Catalan Mathematics Society participates with its own representatives. Currently it is member (by election) of the association’s management team. Thus, participants around Europe and other countries internationally have to solve the same problems and have an hour and a quarter to try to solve it.
Grades:
The answers computer storage and the assessment and calculation of the grades was done in collaboration with the Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE) of the Universitat Politècnica de València.
How the test is graded?:
Every participant starts the test with three points. Each correct answer aggregates the proportional score (3, 4 or 5 points). Not answered questions nor aggregate neither deduct any point. A wrong answer deducts the fourth part of the corresponding points to this question (0,75 or 1 or 1,25 points).

Each centre may be informed about the grades of all participating students. It is required to access the scores using the credentials available to the teacher who made the registration of the centre.
Awards:
The awards ceremony for the Kangaroo Contest 2015 in Valencia will be on Thursday 28 May at 17:30 in the Assembly Hall at the Aulario II of the Campus of Sant Vicent del Raspeig of the University of Alicante.
