The Student Services Unit is part of the Central Administrative and Financial Services of the University of Valencia. It serves as a centralised management and advisory unit which, reporting functionally to the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs, undertakes the management of all activities and procedures related to students throughout their academic life.
As a central unit, through the Undergraduate and Master’s Sections it coordinates actions related to:
- The organization of university entrance exams and undergraduate admission processes (pre-enrolment), in coordination with the Regional Ministry of Education and the other public universities of Valencia.
- The coordination of the entire enrolment process for students at the University of Valencia.
- The coordination of master’s degree studies and their pre-enrolment procedures.
- The processing of scholarship applications for the various calls issued by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, and the Valencian Regional Government.
- Management of other student grants and scholarships, including study grants for students at the University’s own centres, specific enrolment grants for selected master’s degrees, and mobility grants awarded by Banco Santander.
- The financial management of master’s degree programmes, including payments to external teaching staff, scholarships for specific master’s degrees, expenses associated with partnership agreements, and fee processing for institutions without existing agreements.
- Processing and renewing agreements for joint degrees with other public administrations and entities, as well as agreements related to internships and the development of the University’s own degree programmes.
- Handling student-related appeals.
- Drawing up and proposing the academic and management calendar.
- Drawing up proposals for university participation activities.
Additionally, the Curriculum and Degrees Section:
- Advises the University’s governing bodies, centres, institutes, departments, and the Rector’s team on matters related to the management of new curriculum proposals and potential modifications to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes, and oversees their implementation.
- Oversees the procedures for implementing new studies at the University of Valencia and manages new programme proposals.
- Is responsible for managing the termination of certain degrees.
- Manages the University of Valencia’s own postgraduate and continuous education programmes, in coordination with the ADEIT University–Business Foundation and the Lluís Alcanyís Foundation.
- Is responsible for issuing university degrees and Supplement to the Degree (SET) certificates.
