
On 6 May at 14:30 - 17:30 in Brussels, Belgium, a high-level debate is held followed by the Erasmus+ / Youth in Action Youth Projects Awards. This event is one of the key highlights of European Youth Week in Brussels.
Following a keynote speech from Commissioner Navracsics and addresses from Silvia Costa MEP, Chair of the European Parliament Culture and Education Committee and Mārīte Seile, Minister of Education and Science from Latvia, a debate is held on the topic of "Enhancing youth participation to prevent intolerance and antidemocratic behaviour." The speakers are joined by three additional policy and opinion formers with experience in this area.
Following the debate, the European Youth Week 2015 Youth Projects Awards are presented to three projects funded by Erasmus+ / Youth in Action programmes which are outstanding examples in the fields of:
- Empowering young people through meetings with decision-makers
- Empowering young people through mobility and other initiatives
- Training and networking of youth workers to support youth empowerment.
