Aims and methodology of the Diploma

The aim is a comprehensive training in cooperatives tax and accounting management. In the accounting and fiscal fields, cooperatives are mainly ruled by the same regulations than the rest of companies and partnerships, but they have distinct specialties. Thus the courses addressed to companies with other legal form are not useful for them, as they do not cover great part of their issues in this area. But to the extent that they are not only ruled by special regulations, just to understand all the accounting and fiscal issues that affect them, it is necessary to make a general approximation of regulations, jurisprudence, learning, etc, that affect cooperatives, regardless of their special character. Therefore, the course pursues the aim of a general training about this, so who takes it will be able to manage and advise on cooperative accounting and fiscal management in all its aspects.

Course methodology

The course will be conducted online over 6 months through ADEIT’s virtual training platform, jointly with in-person sessions such as seminars and lectures.

The distance-learning mode of the Diploma is supported by two essential pillars: the Virtual Platform and electronic tutorships. Through the Virtual Platform, the student will have direct access to:

  • The instructions and guidance on how to follow and pass the course, both generally and for each of the modules and subjects that are part of the Diploma programme. There is a course coordinator in charged for the correct functioning of the course.
  • The materials through which the content of the course are taught: ad hoc materials, custom made by the professors of each module and subject, and other complementary materials such as magazine articles, book chapters, lectures and conference speeches, etc. The materials will consist of presentations with audio explanations, documentation of each Unit, etc.
  • The assessment texts of each of the course modules and subjects (test, exercises and practical cases), that the student must take and pass to complete the course.
  • The debate forum, through which they can contact the rest of the course students and professors. There is a general forum for the course and a specific forum for each of the modules and subjects.

Through the electronic tutorships, the student can contact directly the teaching staff and answer any doubt that may arise, as well as asking questions and comment on the course progress.

The work made through the virtual classroom will be complemented by several in-person sessions or seminars throughout the course, whose attendance is not mandatory.
