The ADEIT Foundation of the University of Valencia is organising the course “The Sun Takes Centre Stage: Science, Eclipses and Special Effects”, a training initiative that will introduce the public to solar physics, eclipses and space weather from a scientific and outreach perspective.
The course will take place in person from 18 June to 16 July 2026, with five two-hour sessions at ADEIT’s headquarters. The programme will address topics such as the structure and observation of the Sun, the mechanics of eclipses, space missions dedicated to solar research, and the impact of space weather. It will also include a practical session on solar observation using specialised equipment.
The activity is aimed at professionals in communication, education and tourism, technical profiles, and anyone interested in science communication, with no prior specialised training required. The teaching staff includes José Luis Gasent Blesa, María Julia Suso López and Julián Blanco Rodríguez, from the University of Valencia.
