‘Les converses Les Falles a La Nau’ analitzen la recent declaració de la festa com a Patrimoni de la Humanitat

‘Les converses Les Falles a La Nau’ (‘The talks Les Falles in La Nau’), organised by the Debate Forum of the UV and the Associació d’Estudis Fallers (ADEF) yesterday and today, propose this year to reflect on the recent declaration of Fallas as Intangible Heritage by the UNESCO, a significant fact for the festivity which creates expectations and unanswered questions.
Under the generic title ‘Fallas, Patrimonio de la Humanidad. ¿Y ahora qué?’ (‘Fallas, Heritage of Humanity. And now, what?’), these sessions finish today, Thursday 15, at 19:00, in the Seminar Hall of the buiding (third floor). Debates can be followed on Twitter using the hashtag #FallesNau.
Today’s session, ‘Patrimonio día a día’ (‘Heritage day to day’), will address the conservation and diffusion of the inherited and unique elements which characterise the festivity of Fallas based on specific experiences of the commissions of Fallas, artists and Administration.
Moderated by the journalist Gustavo Clemente, they will participate Ramon Estellés, delegate of Culture of the Fallas Benicalap-Campanar Association; Jordi Palanca, president of the Fallas Sagunt-Quart Association and maker of Fallas; Vicent Borrego, vice president of Culture of the Falla Na Jordana; and Consuelo Matamoros, member of the Spanish delegation in the assembly of the UNESCO in Ethiopia and head of service of Cultural Heritage of the General Management of Culture and Heritage of the Valencian Government. Furthermore, in the zero row they will participate Pilar Luna, director of the Museo del Gremio de Artistas Falleros (Museum of Fallas’ makers); Gil Manuel Hernández, director of the Museo Fallero of Valencia; Vicente Guerola, from the University Institute of Heritage Restoration; and Mar Estrella, from Falles Populars i Combatives.
They have collaborated several institutions and entities on this 12th edition of ‘Les converses Les Falles a La Nau’: the Junta Central Fallera, the Gremio Artesano de Artistas Falleros, the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Valencian Museum of Etnology of the Valencian Provincial Council, the Interagrupación de Fallas of Valencia, the Federación de Fallas de 1A, the Federación de Fallas con Especial Ingenio y Gracia, the Fallas Innovadoras y Experimentales group, and the Cultural Association of the Iaraní Prize.
