The UV debuts its medal count at the CEU 2026

The Universitat de València won its first medals of the year at the Spanish University Championships (CEU) in cross country and weightlifting, held on March 6 and 7 in Jaèn and Sevilla.
The student athletes of the Universitat de València had an outstanding performance in these two events of the state sports calendar, adding podium finishes in both individual events and team classifications.
The CEU in cross country was held at the University of Jaèn, where the athletes from all over Spain competed in a demanding race that brings together some of the best university long-distance runner each year. Meanwhile, the weightlifting championship has taken place at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Sevilla, with the participation of weightlifters from several Spanish universities.
Regarding the results, the representative of the Universitat de Valencia in weightlifting, Pablo Suárez Vèlez, has been proclaimed vice-champion in the 98kg category, winning the silver medal, both in the start and in the two stages after a very solid performance.
In the CEU in cross country, the UV team has delivered a great collective performance: gold medal in Men´s classification, bronze in Women´s and sliver in both, Men´s and Women´s classification.
With these results, the Universitat de València debuts its medal count and consolidates its presence in the 2026 Spanish University Championships, reinforcing its commitment to sport and the competitive level of its university athletes.
