La 5ª edición de Erasmus en el territorio arranca con la visita a la Albufera de Valencia

The Erasmus students as well as the International students of the Universitat de València will have the opportunity to know the heritage, culture and nature of four representative Valencian places of the inland and the coast. In this new edition they will go on touristic and cultural excursions to l’Albufera, Bocairent, les Terres dels Aforins and Xàtiva..

The first trip will take place next Saturday 30th September. The destination will be the Valencian wetland par excellence: l’Albufera. The students will visit the ‘Interpretation Centre Racó de l’Olla’ and enjoy a guided tour led by the full university professor Javier Armengol (Department of Microbiology and Ecology) and traditional meal in ‘El Palmar’. The journey will finish with a boat ride in the lake.

The following visits are scheduled for the Saturday 21st October (Bocairent), 4th November (els Alforins) and 18th November (Xàtiva). The students can sign up for as many trips as they want to. The price is 25€ per person and it includes transport, insurance, food (local gastronomy) and guided visits both in the towns and during the routes. Among other activities, there are winery visits, museums, castles, natural parks or local spots and boat or train rides.

The organised trips have an educational but fun aspect, since there are offered several activities: tour of the medieval quarter and Covetes dels Moros in Bocairent; visit to the Bastida de les Alcusses, the Historical Ethnological Museum of la Font de la Figuera and a winery with wine tasting in les Terres dels Alforins; and an itinerary for the Castle, the Museum of L'Almodí and the historical-artistic complex of Xàtiva. In the second four-month-period, the program returns with three other routes: Sagunt (17th February), Requena (3rd March) and Ontinyent (21st April).

The programme ‘Erasmus en el territorio’ works from 2013 for Erasmus and International students. It is organised by the Universitat de València through the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation and the Office of the Vice-Principal for International Relations and Cooperation, in collaboration with the Centre d’Idiomes de la Universitat and the city councils of Xàtiva, Bocairent, Moixent, Sagunt, Requena, Ontinyent and the Association Terres dels Alforins.
