In the words of the Vice-Principal for Studies, Isabel Vázquez, ‘this is an indicator that our offer adapts to the needs and demands of our society’.
This offer is in demand internationally, as the Universitat de València is the first university in Europe to receive Erasmus students.
Moreover, the Universitat de València stands out in the main international rankings as the first of the Valencian universities and one of the top five in Spain, and is among the three hundred best in the world, with some areas of knowledge among the top one hundred and one hundred and fifty in the world.
A new degree, in line with the increase in degrees
The double degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, developed in collaboration with the association of chemical companies of the Valencian Community, is the new degree programme to be introduced this year, within the framework of the University’s new degree policy.
These initiatives for double degree programmes and international double degree programmes are taking place in a context of budgetary restrictions due to the lack of a funding model and the staff replacement rate established by the Spanish government, to which the Principal, Mª Vicenta Mestre, referred in her speech at the opening of the academic year, in which she pointed to the hope of the commitment of the Generalitat (Valencian Government) to have a new funding model in place by 2023.
