Close to sixty thousand students begin classes in the Universitat de València

Classes begin on Monday, 15 September in all the degrees of the Universitat de València. Almost sixty thousand people course some degree, post degree, doctorate, or a university-specific degree from the University this year, which, once more, has been the favourite by the candidates getting into the Valencian public university system. Most specifically, on Monday close to 45.000 students are beginning classes.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the Universitat de València offers 8.868 new places (for First Year of the different degrees) that were covered to the 100% in the first call of July. More than forty-nine thousand students were on waiting list.
The Vice-Dean of Studies, Isabel Vázquez, has expressed her satisfaction since “our offer responds to the expectative and necessities of training of our society as it has demonstrated the good reception in the enrolment and the good results and professional insertion of our graduates”.
This way, on Monday the classes of 44.314 students of degree and master’s degree (from which 38.160 are students of degree and 6.154 are students of master’s degree). To this number the 4.354 students coursing doctorate studies, non-official degrees and Erasmus students will be added.
The Universitat de València is the public university of superior teaching with a wider teaching offering: 56 degrees, 13 double-degrees and 17 international double degrees. Furthermore, they offer 110 master’s degrees, 3 UV double master’s degrees, 15 international double master’s degrees and 60 doctorate programmes.
International leadership
More than 2.100 Erasmus students have incorporated as well these days to the Universitat de València for the 2025-26 academic year. A number that shows the European leadership of the Valencian academic institution in the mobility programmes. On their part, a total of 2.070 students of the Universitat de València begin this semester their Erasmus mobility staying in European universities, the biggest number of nobilities since the programme began.
Italy, Germany and France are, in that order, the main countries of origin. To these Erasmus students, another 81 students from outside Europe (coming from South-America, United States, Canada, China, Korea or Japan) and 298 SICUE students from Spanish Universities add up.
130 students from the FORTHEM European alliance also stand out, and will participate in specific activities to favour their cultural and social integration.
