Universitat de València arranges a technical meeting about the restoration of Albufera within the European project Interreg Wetland4Change, in which the research group lead by full professor Antonio Camacho, Biodiversity and Evolution Biology Cavanilles Institute’s researcher, participates.

The workshop opens today in the Cavanilles Institute and will close on Thursday in the Albufera Biological Station’s natural reserve.

Wetland4Change is a Euro-MED project focusing on the implementation and validation of nature-based solutions to preserve and restore the wetlands in order to adapt better to the climate change and its mitigation in the Mediterranean region.

The project aims to sequester carbon and regulate floods with scientific knowledge and new governance mechanisms, with heads in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, France and Spain. By siding with wetland managers, political authorities and general public with education, the experience exchange and a dynamic communication strategy set by Wetland4Change aims to enhance the protection of the crucial ecosystems and defend their role against climate change.
