The Faculty of Medicine and Odontology has given the Extraordinary Awards and recognised the retired staff

The Universitat de València's Faculty of Medicine and Odontology has celebrated on Wednesday the ceremony of the Extraordinary Awards 2017/2018, as well as the expression of recognition and gratitude for the retired lecturers and administration staff during the 2017/2018 year..

The Aula Magna of the Universitat de València’s Faculty of Medicine has hosted the ceremony of the Extraordinary Awards for the students of Medicine and Dentistry. The lecturers and the administration and services staff that retired last year have also been recognised and thanked for their work and dedication to the institution.

The ceremony has been presided over by the Principal of the Universitat de València Mª Vicenta Mestre, accompanied by the dean of the Faculty Francisco Javier Chorro Gascó. They have been in charge of the delivery of diplomas to the honourees.

Carmen Arveras Martínez, Marta Dafne Cabañero Navalón, Pascuál Ciscar Fernández, Vicente Benlloch Ripollés and Sonia Peñarrocha Oltra have been the award-winners from the Degree in Medicine. Beatriz Sanz Font and Alba Mormeneo Bayo have been the award-winners from the Degree in Dentistry.

Paula Císcar and Alba Moreno, representing the students of Medicine and Dentistry respectively, have thanked the Universitat, the teaching staff, their friends and their relatives for their support during the long five years of studying that have allowed them to win this recognition.

Next, the lecturers and administration and services staff have also been recognised. The Dean Francisco Javier Gascó has appreciated the work and dedication of lecturers Juan Francisco Ascaso Gimilio, Joaquín Donat Colomer, Roberto Hernández Marco and Antonio Iradi Casal, as well as the work all employees do from home in support of education, research and knowledge.

On her behalf, the Principal Mª Vicenta Mestre has congratulated the honoured students by encouraging them to continue increasing their knowledge and educating themselves. She has also wished them luck in the new stage they are about to begin. On the other hand, she has also thanked the retired teaching staff for their dedication and contribution to the education of the students, as well as for their work that has helped the Universitat grow each day.  

The Vice-Principal for Research, Carlos Hermenegildo; the secretary of the Faculty, Luís Aparicio; the vice-dean of Dentistry, Mª Yolanda Giménez; the vice-dean of Academic Ordinance, Amparo Ruiz and the Delegate of the Principal for the Students, Mercedes Elizalde have also attended the ceremony.
