Students of Blasco Ibáñez campus gather outside Espai Vives for the UV Welcome Ceremony 2025

The second session of Universitat de Valencia Welcome Ceremony 2025 took place on Tuesday 21 October at Blasco Ibáñez campus, outside the Espai Vives and classroom buildings 1 and 3. Hundreds of students have gathered around the information booths of university services and student associations all morning. On Thursday 23 October and Tuesday 28 October, the ceremony will visit Ontinyent and Burjassot espectively.

Students from the Faculty of Physical Activity and sports Sciences, Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, faculty of Phylosophy and Education Science, Faculty of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Geography and History, Faculty of Nursery and Podiatry, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy gathered all morning around the Espai Vives area to learn about the academic year 2025-2026 initiatives of the university services and student associations. Attending students also shared horchata and slush in the resting area with musical ambiance of Gary Moves.

They learnt about different European inistiatives like FORTHEM, Erasmus+, VolunteeringUV, Sports, language courses and travel grants.

Universitat de València Principal M. Vicenta Mestre, and Student Delegate Marcos Durá visited the information booths along with directive members like Vice-Principal of  Continuous Training, Educational Transformation and Jobs Ángeles Solanes; Vice-Principal of Internationalisation and Multilingualism Carles Padilla; manager Juan Vicente Climent; and Deans of each campus like Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication Dean Jose Antonio Calañas; Faculty of Phylosophy and Education Sciences Dean Elena Cantarino; Faculty of Geography and History Dean Manuel Lomas; and Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Dean Amparo Ruiz.

Universitat de València Welcome Ceremony is organised by the Student Council via the Information and Promotion Service for Students (SEDI), and has become an essential informative event at the start of each academic year. It helps students, particularly first-years learn about activities to enrich their university experience and make full use of Universitat de València resources and services.

The Welcome Ceremony at Blasco Ibáñez Campus had the participation of the Student Council (AGE), UV Language Learning Centre, UV Library, UVCulture and UVSociety University Culture Service, Sports Service, the Information and Promotion Service for Students (SEDI), Libraries and Documentation Service, Languages Service, International Relations and Cooperation Service (Forthem and Erasmus+), Equality and diversity Unit, Quality Unit, UVdisability, UVjob, ADEIT and UVsustainability. These associations and student collectives also participated: University Alliance, United Students Block (BEA), Debate Club, Saó-UV, Pangaea, Oblivious Magazine, Paisos Catalans Student Sindicate (SEPC) and Valencian Students Union.


Next sessions: Ontinyent and Burjassot
The Universitat de València Welcome Ceremony will continue on 23 October at the Ontinyent Campus Central Park and on 28 October at Burjassot Campus at the garden in front of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Gastronomical Sciences.
