The Universitat de València joins the celebration of the Pride Parade raising the rainbow and the transgender flag at the building of La Nau on the occasion of the Transgender Year of Visibility. The Ontinyent Campus has also raise a rainbow flag at its Historic Building as a symbol of the LGTBI movement.

The academic institution invites the university community to join the activities organised by the City Hall of Valencia and several associations such as Lambda to celebrate the Pride Parade. It specially encourages the students to join the LGTBI Pride demonstration which will take place on 24 June at 19:30 at Puerta del Mar in Valencia.

The symbol of the transgender pride is made of five lines, two of them are blue and represent the male gender; two of them are pink and represent the female one and the central one is white because it represents gender neutrality and intersexuality.

This initiative is promoted by the Delegate for students of the Universitat de València and by the Sedi: Information and Promotion Service - Universitat de València. This event takes place on the occasion of the celebration of the Pride Parade the next 28 June. This date is selected to pay tribute to the Stonewall riots (New York, USA) IN 1969.
