The Consultia Business Travel Chair-Universitat de València is born. Technology and sustainability to transform business trips

Promote teaching, research, knowledge transfer and employability in the field of business trips is the main purpose of the new Consultia Business Travel Chair-Universitat de València. The initiative will work towards more integrated, sustainable and intelligent corporate mobility.
It was presented at the headquarters of ADEIT - University-Business Foundation. The Chair will focus its activity in the analysis of new models of travel management, the application of new emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence or process automation and the boost of sustainable practices in personal mobility. This was explained by the chair’s directors, Full University Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Francisco Grimaldo, and the PDI of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Daniel García.
The event has gathered institutional, academic and business representatives. During its intervention, Vice-principal for Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat de València, Rosa Donat, has highlighted that this collaboration ‘reinforces the mission of connecting technological knowledge with society's real challenges’. In this sense, Rosa Donat has showed her satisfaction with the fact that ‘more companies are putting their trust in the University of Valencia due to its dedication to the knowledge and talent that universities produce'.
The CEO of Consultia Business Travel, Juan Manuel Baixauli, has highlighted that the Chair is ‘a co-reation space between the academic and business world, where we share our knowledge, innovation and experience to make progress in the management of business trips.’ According to him, this initiative enables to continue developing ‘intelligent and innovative solutions to improve professional mobility in organisations’.
Along these same lines, the director of the ADEIT Foundation, Ainhoa Genovés, highlighted the capacity of cooperation between the University and the productive sector to drive socioeconomic development and innovation, which is ADEIT's main mission. Moreover, she has said that business chairs are effective for this purpose. ‘Business chairs are an example of how cooperation can have real impact’.
The Consultia Business Travel-Universitat de València foresees the development of joint projects, studies, training activities, publications and professional gatherings that help move towards a more efficient, digital and responsible mobility model.
