Next week a meeting with the writer Rosa Montero and the comic artist Paco Roca will be held by La Nau Cultural centre of the Universitat de València. Respectively, these two dates will start the Narrative and Comics Classroom programme of the UV. Montero will participate on Monday 28 September, at 19:00, at the Paraninfo (Main Hall), in a literary discussion on the occasion of the release of her new book "Un día en la vida de Clarita", while Roca, at the Aula Magna, on Tuesday 29, at the same hour, will lead the meeting "Les separaciones de Paco Roca".
The attendance of Rosa Montero in Valencia has raised expectations. Montero, the winner of the National Prize for Spanish Literature, has built an extensive literary and journalist career with her work being translated to thirty languages.
"Un día en la vida de Clarita" follows a woman that has been working in a bank for three decades during her last day before retirement. Clarita, who used to go unnoticed and to take little space, faces this situation with the uncertainty of someone who does not know what is going to happen after a life stuck in the routine. Furthermore, an unexpected event completely changes a working day that seemed destined to go as always. The author will be presented by the person in charge of the Narrative Classroom of the UV, Professor Cristina García Pascual. The entrance is free of charge with needed registration.
The day after will be the turn of the comic artist and illustrator Paco Roca, who will participate in the meeting "Les separacions de Paco Roca" alongside the person in charge of the Comics Classroom, Professor Álvaro Pons. In the meeting, Roca will go through his works, separating himself from all his creations, which is a topic explored in his last book, "El viaje", of high personal character. The entrance is free of charge until capacity is reached.
