The fixed furniture has been replaced by tables and chairs that allow greater mobility and organisation of the classrooms, and electrification has been provided to boost the electrical connection of laptops and mobile devices. These are the improvement actions carried out in the Tarongers campus while construction to repair the façades of the north and south classrooms buildings progresses according to schedule.

The principal of the University of Valencia, Mª Vicenta Mestre, and the deans of the Faculties of Law, Economics, Teacher Training and Social Sciences have visited the north classrooms building to check the state of the new furniture that has been installed.

An investment of nearly 300,000 euros has made it possible to replace the old fixed furniture, which had continuous benches, with modern tables with electrical connection and chairs.

Thus, as stated by the dean of the Faculty of Law and coordinator of the Tarongers Campus and various professors and vice-deans, it allows for a more fluid activity, with furniture at the service of teaching.

The coordinator of the Student Council (AGE), who attended the meeting, viewed positively the improvement of quality of life in the classroom once the new furniture was installed.

The principal, the deans, the vice-principal for Economy and Infrastructure, the coordinator of the AGE and the deputy general manager for Economic Coordination and Services toured the north and south classrooms buildings to assess the state of the construction work on the façades of these building of the Tarongers Campus.

The work on the south classroom building has now been completed, and in the afternoons, once the teaching activity has finished, and at night, the scaffolding that has covered the façade of this building over the last few months, where classes of the Faculty of Economics are taught, is being removed.

Construction on the north classrooms building, according to forecasts, is beginning and is expected to be completed before the start of the next academic year 2021-2022.

The north and south classroom buildings, inaugurated in 1995 and 1996, respectively, are undergoing a series of façade interventions to repair the pathologies typical of monumental buildings with large exposed brick walls, which suffer from the degradation of the façade tiles fixings in the area of the structural slab.

This project has required an investment of close to 1,000,000 euros to guarantee the safety of people and the correct maintenance of the buildings.
