The Universitat de València has opened on July the pre-enrolment period in new specialisation courses in cinematographic production and direction inside the third Plan Específico de Formación Continua en Cine y Audiovisual (PECA) organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, through the Cinema Club UV, that will be taught by professors and professionals of the field between September and October.

The third Plan PECA, which started on 11 June with a training pathway about universal accessibility, has as a main finality fomenting training and professionalization in the audiovisual industry through specialised workshops and laboratories that are always developed, in on-site modality, in La Nau Cultural Centre of the Universitat de València.

Now, the period to pre-register starts in four remaining courses part of the pathways in cinematographic production and direction, with 30 hours of duration each one and a reduced price of enrolment of 30€. This last thing is possible thanks to the support of the Government of the Valencian Community inside the framework of collaboration with universities for the training of professionals of the culture. Furthermore, the access to courses does not have any previous requirements, an essential characteristic of the certification of the university micro-credential, recognised and given by the Ministry of Universities.

The training offer for September and October is formed by the next courses: about cinematographic production, El papel del productor cinematográfico: de la idea al pitching’ (from 8 to 19 September), which will get into the key roll of the producer and the executive producer from phase zero of detection of ideas towards the search of creative talent and funding; and ‘De la dirección de producción al rodaje’ (from 6 to 17 October) about funding and organisation in cinema.

As for the itinerary of specialisation in cinematographic direction, this will start with the course ‘Guion cinematográfico de proyectos de ficción’ (from 22 September to 3 October) that will go deeper into advanced techniques for the elaboration of scripts; and will continue with the training in ‘Narrativas documentales y técnicas de investigación cinematográficas’ (from 20 to 31 October) for the development and realisation of documentary projects that require a previous research work.

The teaching will be led by professors from Audiovisual Communication of the Universitat de València (Yolanda CabreraJordi RevertIsadora Guardia y Marcos Pablo Centeno) and recognised professionals of the industry (the audiovisual producers Lorena Torres y Mila Luengo, y los guionistas Rafael Ferrero y Laura García Andreu).
