Prop building of the Valencian Government in Alicante was the chosen scenery to formalise the signature of the collaboration agreement between Valencian public universities and the Valencian Government to the ‘Training in security and emergencies area’.

There attended the president of the Valencian Government, Ximo Puig and the five principals of the Valencian public universities, Amparo Navarro, principal-in-office of the Universitat d'Alacant; Esteban Morcillo, principal of the Universitat de València; Vicent Climent, principal of the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló; Francisco Mora, principal of the Universitat Politècnica de València; and Jesús Tadeo Pastor, principal of the Universitat Miguel Hernández d'Elx.

The agreement has the objective of establishing a collaboration field which allow to develop projects ands training , research and developing programmes allocated to improve the training and pedagogical capacity of the people involve in the area of security and response to emergencies.

The agreement wants to perform activities in fields like genre violence; police management of the diversity, police mediation, ethics and police professional ethics or security in new technologies.

The collaboration of this agreement will be developed through the Institut Valencià de Seguretat Pública i Emergències (IVASPE), with professor and researcher training programmes; by cooperating in the prepare of proposals and in the participation of projects financed by the European Commission; as well as doing the interchange of research and teaching material.

The principal of the Universitat de València, Esteban Morcillo, in the name of the five Valencian public universities has highlighted that ‘this agreement is about the values which must typify a democratic society like ours and that our universities represent and motivate’.

Morcillo, in the Europe Day, has defended, in front of the president of the Valencian Government ‘ a Europe with more politics’ and that bets for an ‘economy based on the sustainable growth’.

On his part, the president of the Valencian Government, Ximo Puig, has talked of the agreement like an opportunity to value and improve the quality of the emergencies services’, by securing that the ‘security is the cohabitation guarantee’.
