Almost 300 people, all of them students of the following degrees: Nursing, Business Administration and Management, Science of Physical Activity and Sports Science, Preschool Education, University and Society, teaching staff and campus staff, put on their bibs to cover 1800 meters, running or walking.

Solidarity participation was also present in the race, since the participants collaborated with Caritas by donating food.

An activity that united values such as solidarity, companionship, as well as the promotion of  “A healthy lifestyle, commitment to sport and health”, declared José Cantó, director of the Ontinyent Campus, for El Periòdic d'Ontinyent.

“What we have done is something very participatory.  It is the first time that we have done it, the idea is to keep it growing...From the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Science we work, in this case by means of a subject named ‘Management and organisation of sporting bodies and events’”, explained Pep Crespo, coordinator of the race, also in an interview for the same medium.

The start of the race was attended by different personalities: José Cantó, Director of the Ontinyent Campus at the Universitat de València; Katty Usinha, local Councillor for Cooperation; Ferran Calabuig, Vice-Dean for Infrastructures; Jordi Belda, General Secretary of the Ontinyent Campus; Josefa Marco, Administrator of the Ontinyent Campus; Pedro Pérez, Vice-Principal of Academic Organisation of the FCAFE; Teresa Sanchis, representative of the Faculty of Economics of the Ontinyent Campus; Carlos Navarro, coordinator of the UV Physical Education and Sports Service; and Rafa Rull, of Interesport Rull Ontinyent.

La I Cursa Campus d'Ontinyent, an initiative that united the entire campus and whose objective is to grow in future editions.
