Specialists analyse in the University the podcast and the future of sound communication

The Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication from the Universitat de València takes on 18 and 19 October the biggest and oldest event about the podcasting universe in Spain. The meeting is organized by the research group from the Innocast University (The podcast as a journalist emerging phenomenon. Innovation in tales and radio formats), in collaboration with the Podcast Association. The format combines in-person and online acts.
In 2025 it will be the 100 anniversary of the first radio emission in Spain, a list of the day’s anniversary that advises to set out the questions about these means and their evolution in a media ecosystem marked by hyper connectivity, smart devices and Artificial Intelligence. The meeting will focus in the podcast format as key format.
Some of the expert participants will be Eugenio Viñas (Podium Podcast), Andrés Gimeno (À Punt Mèdia), José María Vidal (Audiovisual Council CV), Álex Martínez (IVOOX) and Rebeca Martín-Nieto (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos). There will be listening sessions of innovative work, directed by the sound artists Carys Wall and Laura Romero. And the last proposals of the Latin-American audio will also have a place in the congress.

The topics will be ‘Educomunicación y podcast’, with the purpose of analysing how are the podcasts being used as educative tools; ‘Podcast y Universidad’; ‘El podcast ante los retos de futuro’; and ‘Historia y evolución de la radio’.
During the congress there will be activities like the inauguration of the exhibition ‘El podcast #ElMur, una historia de nuestra memoria democrática’, on the entrance of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication, or the presentation of awards from the Podcast Association, that this year will give the prize ‘Una vida de audio’ to the journalist Iñaki Gabilondo.
