The Burjassot Campus of the Universitat de València hosts the XXVII Mostra Art Públic / Universitat Pública, an initiative that proposes twelve temporary artistic interventions, designed for the campuses where they are installed, and which seek to connect with the university public and society. It also intertwines dialogues between the different disciplines and contemporary art.

Until 30 October, at the Burjassot Campus, the works of Vicente Aguado, Amaya Suberviola, Marco Ranieri, Fernando Martínez, Col-lectiu Forat (Marta Negre and Andreu Signes) and Edu Comelles can be visited and interacted with; and from 6 November to 4 December, at the Blasco Ibáñez campus, the works of Alba Mayol, Noé Bermejo, Álvaro Porras Soriano, Teresa Martín García, Rafael Tormo and María García Sánchez will be on display.

The inauguration was attended last Friday by the Vice-principal for Culture and Society, Ester Alba; the Delegate of the Principal for students, Marcos Durà; the artists; and members of the campus dean's teams.

In a guided tour, the artists commented on their creations, which this year have been linked to false appearances in social networks; the substitution of reality by its reproduction in contemporary culture; a sonorous journey into the questions of capitalism; botany as a common familiar vehicle; and the ephemeral stamp of time by uniting art and science.

The jury that selected the twelve projects was made up of Oskia Ugarte, director of the Huarte Contemporary Art Centre (Uharteko Arte Garaikideko Zentroa); Paula Santiago, lecturer in the Painting Department of the Facultat de Belles Arts and director of the Art and Environment Research Centre, both at the Universitat Politècnica de València; Ester Alba, Vice-Principal for Culture and Society at the Universitat de València; Marcos Durá, Delegate of the Principal for Students at the Universitat de València; and technical staff from the Student Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) and the Vice-Principal Office for Culture and Society.

The Mostra Art Públic / Universitat Pública is a call of the Universitat de València promoted by the Students Council through the Information and Promotion Service for Students (Sedi) and has the collaboration of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society.

The initiative aims for students to live with artistic projects that encourage them to reflect from a committed perspective in order to enrich their university experience.
