The establishment of this Committee at the beginning of the course will enable the Universitat to give a rapid response to emergency situations, specially meteorological.

At the meeting on 10 September they have agreed to create a direction to make decisions and to follow an emergency management in Universitat de València.

The Committee, which will be coordinated by the General Manager of Universitat, will do a tracking of the situations declared as pre-emergency or emergency and they will declare the different levels of emergency established by Universitat de València, that have been fixed in that meeting.

Those levels have a range from 0 to 4, where the 0 level is the lack of expected situations as risks for the university community.

In level 1 they will announce some recommendations of action, this is the lowest emergency level in Universitat, whereas in level 2 is expected the full or partial suspension of the teaching activity as well as another university activities that will be determined by the Committee according to the forecast and the pre-emergency and emergency situations declared by the authorities.

Level 3 involved the general suspension of the university activity (teaching, administrative, researcher and cultural), with the exception of support tasks to the basic functions and the maintenance of critical installations.

The declaration of level 4 will suppose the closure and evacuation of the university installations, except the equipment and critical installations, as well as the temporal confinement in the buildings when exists the risk of evacuation.
