The Universitat de València awards their sportspeople at the 11th Sports Ceremony

The Universitat de València will commemorate their best sportspeople at the 11th Sports Ceremony The event will be held on Wednesday 6th of November at 6:00 p.m. in Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication (Sanchis Guarner Conference hall).

The aim of the event is to recognise them the great sports achievement of different competitions during the last season. 

This year, the people awarded will be Elena López, ex-player of rugby sevens UV’s team; Adrián Pastor, ex-player of men volleyball UV’s team; and Andrea Micó, ex-player of UV’s team of frontenis. In this edition will be an award for adapted sport for Gabi Calvo, UV’s team player of futsal in electric wheelchair. 

 At institutional level, the work of Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), València City Council, Cullera City Council and Aras de los Olmos and Titaguas City Council will be recognised because they have supported the development of different competitions of Spain organised by Universitat de València. 

During the event, it will highlighted all medals achieved in different competitions, as well as regional, national, university and the good international results obtained in European University Sport Championship, where we had the representation of Handball women’s team, Volleyball women’s team, Karate, Judo and Taekwondo.

This ceremony will also present the teams that will represent the Universitat de València every day in the regional university competition: CADU (Campeonato Autonómico de Deporte Universitario), and the next CEU (Campeonatos de España Universitarios - Spanish University Championship).

Authorities

The ceremony will be presided by the Principal Mavi Mestre, with the Vice-principal of Culture and Equality, Antonio Ariño; and the Director of Physical Education and Sports Service, Vicente Añó. Also, the ceremony will have the presence of Sports General Director of the Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian Government), Josep Miquel Moya, and the Sports Valencian City Councillor delegate, Pilar Bernabé, among other Valencian sports authorities.
