The awards ceremony for the best qualified in the PAU and NAU brought together nearly 130 students who have chosen to study at the Universitat de València.

The UV has recognised those students who obtained the highest marks in the compulsory phase of the University Entrance Examination (PAU) and the University Entrance Mark (NAU) in the court of the academic institution. The diploma certifying the academic excellence was awarded to 127 students who obtained a mark equal to or higher than 9 in the compulsory phase of the PAU.

The ceremony took place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry on Friday, 18 June, and was attended by UV Principal Maria Vicenta Mestre and other academic authorities. The Vice-Principal of Studies Isabel Vázquez and the delegate of the principal for University Integration Maria José Lorente joined the principal in handing over the diplomas to the awarded students. A large group of deans, centre directors and other academic representatives also attended.

Director of Marketing and Communication and the Principal’s Office Joan Enric Úbeda was the master of ceremonies who stated that the UV is the top-ranking institution in quality research and teaching year after year. He also pointed out that the university welcomes more European students in mobility programmes and participates in important international initiatives and agreements that place it at the forefront of science and knowledge.

During the ceremony, UV Principal congratulated the award-winning students and their families, highlighting that their academic excellence is the result of their academic work and the daily support from their families. Mestre stressed that the quality, diversity and innovation of the academic programme of the Universitat de València, which covers all fields of knowledge, has a unique historical and cultural heritage, cutting-edge technology, promotes sport, culture and entrepreneurship and has excellent results in terms of employability and academic performance. Finally, she encouraged the students to take this opportunity to study at the Universitat de València and gave them the UV’s support to reach their goals.

After handing over the diplomas, the principal and other institutional representatives had a more casual chat with the students, congratulating them once again and encouraging them to continue their studies at the Universitat de València, who offers an extensive and varied training programme to develop their skills.

This distinguished group of students has been recognised by a university committed to talent, offering them tradition and innovation, academic quality and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
