The Universitat de València gets excellent results in the individual disciplines of CADU

The UV has stood out in the individual competitions of the Autonomous University Sports Championship (CADU), achieving an excellent track record in several disciplines and becoming established as one of the most powerful university institution in the field of sports.
Squash: UV’s complete domination
In the category of squash, the Universitat de València won the gold among universities, with brilliant individual performances. In the men’s category, Ernesto Revert got the gold and Enrique Moreno the silver. In the women’s category, Lucía Adrián went up the very top of the podium, followed by Carmen Toro, who got the silver.
Valencian Pilota: UV hegemony
The Valencian pilota was also dominated by the UV, with gold medals in each category:
- Court wall: Salva Ballester and Joan Orts (gold).
- Escala i Corda: Joan Orts, Pere Buigues and Àngel Señorís (gold).
- Men’s Raspall: Miquel Soler, Jordi Momparler and Rodrigo Aranda (gold).
- Women’s Raspall: Aina Cuadrat, Isabel Piquer and Mireia Valero (gold).
These results allow the UV to get by universities in this discipline.
Archery: good results and silver by universities
The Universitat de València got several medals in archery, Silvia Inés Izquierdo standing out, who took the gold medal in recurve bow 3rd women’s category. In addition, Justyna Agniezka got the silver medal in the same category. In the category of women’s composite bow, Nataly del Águila got the bronze medal. Likewise, in the men’s categories, the UV won several bronze medals: Juan Antonio de Rus in the 1st category, Marc Mestre Cañón in the 2nd category and Enric serranos in 3rd category. These achievements allowed the UV to get the silver in the classification by universities.
Judo: a discipline full of successes
Judo was also a source of successes for the UV with several medals:
- Women’s Super Lightweight: Gold for Laura Torregrosa Pina.
- Men’s Super Lightweight: Silver for Enrique Araiz Sancho and bronze for Jose Abril Sanz.
- Men’s Light heavyweight: Gold for Luis Barroso López.
- Men’s Welterweight: Gold for Luis Sedano Castells and bronze for David González Bono and David Gadea Juan.
- Men’s Middleweight: Gold for Marc García San Rafael and broze for Jose Pedro Rodenas Olmo.
- Women’s Middleweight: Gold for Valeria Torres Lumbreras and silver for Aitana Salas Cano.
Chess: bronze by teams
The UV chess team got a commendable bronze medal in the classification by teams.
Swimming: a performance that stands out and silver by universities
Swimming was one of the strengths of the Universitat de València with numerous medals:
- 4x50m Women’s Freestyle: Gold for Marina Gaforio Jordá, Clara Oltra Benavent, Aitana Coll Paredes and Ainhoa Farinós Bautista.
- 4x100m Mixed Freestyle: Bronze for Jesús Daniel Gálvez Rodes, Pau Brines Bernat, Eva García Cuenca and Alexandra Benlloch Valor.
- 4x50 m Women’s Strokes: Silver for Julia Cardona Sanfrancisco, Lucia Martel Pareja, Sofía Gómez Giner and Carla Hurtado Sirera.
People who stood out: Piotr Trazaska got gold in 50m breaststroke and silver in 100m breaststroke, while sofía Gómez Giner got gold in 50m and 10m breaststroke. In the classification by universities, the UV got silver in swimming.
Ultimate: rewarding experience
Although the Universitat de València did not get the ultimate medal, the competition served as a valuable experience for the team, that demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship in each match.

The Universitat de València has stood out in the current edition of the CADU, achieving a resounding success in both the disciplines by teams and individual. This achievement strengthens the UV high sports level, establishing itself as an example regarding sports performance and competitiveness at the university level.
