On next Friday, 25 October, the Universitat de València presents in a collective concert in La Nau the winning teams of the IV edition of Activa Música: a call for grants promoted by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society that has the aim of fostering musical activities, to give visibility to UV members' creativity and to reward the best musical proposals.

From 6:00pm, the Sapiència Chapel of La Nau will host the following performances: Xavi Olucha and Neus S. Mena, Som Acord Quartet, Duo Aitana and Jorge, Trío Atenea and Thiasos Coral. Later, at 8:00pm, the Matilde Salvador Hall will offer the concerts of the music and composer Claudia Padilla and Tymbals DiPercusión. Admission is free until full capacity.

Xavi Olucha, student of Catalan Philology in the UV, and Neus S. Mena will present some songs of their EP ‘Ni corall ni roses’, in which they reinvent baroque poems with their music. For their part, Som Acord Quartet, consisting of four professors of Music and Performing Arts of the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana) (Beatriz Gómez, violin I, Patricia Genís, violin II, Mª Carmen Moros, viola y Elena Alarcón, violoncello) and with the historian and presenter, Elvira Asensi, profesor in the Faculty of Teacher Training of the Universitat de València, will bring the audience closer to chamber music created by women composers and will play a repertoire composed by History's greatest men composers, from Classicism to the present day.

On the other hand, the duet Aitana and Jorge, integrated by two Medicine students of the UV, will delight us with an artistic proposal that aims to display the different love expressions through music, in different cultural and space-time contexts, from 19th century Germany to 20th-21st century Venice. They will play multiple instrument, such as the piano, the trombone and the guitar. Other of the award-winning groups is the Trío Atenea: Neus Ferrer (violin), Paqui Sapiña (viola) and Nuria Alpuente (violoncello), who are part of Ateneo Musical del Puerto's Society, and have joined in to encourage string instrument groups. The shows in the Sapiència Chapel will be brought to a close by the musical group Thiasos Coral, directed by Alba Real, composed by 24 women's voices. This performance's target is to integrate and to propel women into cultural spaces.
